Know More

I led the UI design for the Waitrose mobile application using Figma. My goal was to create a seamless digital shopping experience that matched the brand’s premium positioning, while ensuring speed, clarity, and ease of use. Every screen, icon, and interaction was built to reflect both the sophistication of the Waitrose brand and the needs of everyday users navigating groceries on the go.

Designing for Daily Utility

I focused on keeping all UI components intuitive, highly readable, and accessible across various lighting conditions. My design logic prioritized top-use grocery actions, such as reordering essentials, Browse categories, and managing delivery preferences. Icon sets and menu labels were simplified to remove visual noise, allowing users to take fast, informed action with minimal taps.

Figma-First Collaboration

Figma-First Collaboration

I established a centralized design workflow with live prototyping and scalable components, used seamlessly across seasonal, promotional, and newly launched features.

All screens and components were designed in Figma, enabling version control, real-time previews, and rapid collaboration across internal teams. I built a modular design system that allowed the Waitrose team to reuse components like product cards, promo tiles, and navigation icons. This ensured not only consistency but also faster rollout across new feature sets and seasonal updates.

Visual Language and Interaction

Visual Language and Interaction

Brand refinement meets real-world user behavior, shaped by motion principles and customer feedback loops for enhanced engagement.

Waitrose’s identity was expressed through a refined palette, typographic harmony, and crisp white backgrounds that enhanced product photography. I paid close attention to micro-interactions like button press feedback, carousel glide behavior, and loading animations. This ensured the app felt polished while remaining intuitive for users of all ages and technical skill levels.

Optimized for Real Use

Optimized for Real Use

I built frictionless navigation specifically for shoppers on the move, complete with personalized offers, reminders, and optimized screen flows for fast reorders.

I prioritized mobile-friendly layouts, with responsive design grids supporting devices from older iPhones to large Android screens. CTA placements were tested for thumb reach and visibility. I optimized asset sizes for quick loading without quality loss, making sure even slow networks could support Browse, cart building, and secure checkout efficiently.
