Know More

I adapted and produced the Middle East edition of IWC’s flagship magazine, handling layout, ads, and print execution for one of Switzerland’s most respected luxury brands.

Inside Editorial Process

I worked as Creative Designer at Pinpoint Media Group on The Watch Magazine by IWC Schaffhausen, a luxury title originally created in Switzerland. In 2013, we adapted two Middle East editions for regional release. I handled layout adaptation, added local content, and managed ad placements. Ads from Richard Agyemang were reviewed for resolution, bleed, and print specs before placement. Most pages followed the Swiss layout, but I also built custom regional sections. I used InDesign for layout, Illustrator for icons, and Photoshop for retouching. After layout, I checked the hard proof, then cleared the soft proof for final print. Each edition had a 10,000-copy circulation at a premium print standard.

Regional Execution

Regional Execution

Adapting a Swiss-made magazine for the Middle East market required sharp attention to detail and luxury positioning. While most layouts were inherited from the global edition, I curated and modified them to match regional formats, cultural flow, and advertising strategy.

It was about more than translation; it was visual tailoring. The result had to feel seamless, localized, and still true to IWC’s global aesthetic.

Production Precision

Production Precision

I managed all technical aspects of the print process, from preparing press-ready files to final production approval. I reviewed ad files from Mercedes-Benz, PRADA, Boss, Ermenegildo Zegna, Bally, Montblanc, and others, checking for resolution, bleed marks, and layout consistency.

After finalizing the design, I approved the printed hard proof, followed by a digital soft proof. Only then did I sign off for production. With 10,000 copies per edition and no margin for error, the responsibility for quality control rested entirely on my desk.

Brand Integration

Brand Integration

This magazine reflected the voice and values of IWC Schaffhausen, one of the world’s most respected luxury watchmakers. The advertising lineup told its own story, with placements from Brioni, Zilli, Etro, ARTIOLI, J.M. WESTON, VOSS Water, and USM Modular Furniture.

As Creative Designer, I ensured each ad flowed with the editorial tone, supported the luxury image, and appeared polished in every layout. I also attended the IWC event at One & Only The Palm, giving me direct exposure to the brand’s regional presence and the expectations tied to their print media.
