Magazine
Know More
This was the first magazine I worked on after relocating to Dubai and joining Pinpoint Media Group in late 2010. While I had four years of prior design experience, I learned the full magazine editorial cycle on the job, ultimately working on over 30 issues across three years.
Inside Editorial Process
Good Taste was Choithram’s in-house lifestyle magazine, distributed free across all their UAE supermarkets. It featured editorial segments on food, wellness, home, beauty, and lifestyle tips for modern families. I worked closely with editors Jola Chudy, Cindy L. Bailey, and Managing Editor Graham Stacey (later joined by Karen Iley, Caroline Garnar, and Surena Chande) to transform story ideas into polished editorial layouts. Each issue included recurring lifestyle pages, celebrity profiles, recipes, and seasonal themes.

Creative Sections & Themes
Creative Sections & Themes
The magazine revolved around sections like Good Life, Good Style, Good Look, Good Food, Good Home, and Good to Go.
Each page was styled with fresh colors and imagery that resonated with everyday UAE readers. Monthly segments such as Style News, Health Tips, Cinema Listings, Chef Recipes, and Life Advice added a vibrant mix of content. Over time, I helped refine the visual identity of each section while aligning with Choithram's brand tone.

Design Collaboration & Tools
Design Collaboration & Tools
I worked under Creative Director Karl Ibrahim, collaborating closely with Art Director Phil Madge. Following Phil's departure, I then collaborated with Art Director Tia Seifert.
Initially guided by their direction, I gradually took on more layout ownership. I used Adobe InDesign for editorial layout, Adobe Photoshop for photo edits, and Adobe Illustrator for graphic treatments. As I grew confident, I began managing full issues independently, balancing layouts, image selection, and editorial styling.

Print Checks & Final Output
Print Checks & Final Output
After the first six issues, I began overseeing the print production process myself.
This included preparing final artwork, reviewing both soft and hard proofs, and ensuring every detail was aligned before giving the final go-ahead for press. It was during Good Taste that I first developed the precision and workflow habits that carried through to my later magazine roles. Each edition was crafted to deliver a clean, accessible, and brand-aligned lifestyle read for supermarket shoppers.
